These photos are actually pretty good. Some of the auction houses are a lot worse. No, they never post engine bay photos. Each auction house has thousands of cars passing through each day, so they only take basic photos. The camera is fixed and the cars just drive through and their photo is taken. I'm not sure what they do with the interior photo though.

Inspectors go through the cars, so most of the time if something is missing from the car it will be noted on the auction sheet. Depending on the location of the car, the exporter and the person bidding on the car, sometimes an exporter will arrange for someone to physically go and look at the car before the auction happens.
