Default Best way to get genuine parts in NA?

I'm looking for the Alpina 3.2 intake manifold, I believe the Alpina part # is 11 61 127.

After a few months of waiting none have appeared on ebay, except attached to the rest of the motor and costing

And of course shortly after posting I came across a US parts broker: http://www.alpina-usa.com/

I can try there but the prices seem a little optimistic

In Canada you can order Alpina parts through any BMW dealer. In the USA you go through KSK, whom you discovered.

The best BMW parts guy in my area says he can only order parts for models originally offered here. i.e. Roadster and B7, but not my E36.

He also doesn't recognize the part # since it's not 11 digits. But that's how it's displayed in the E36 and E39 catalogs.

I'll keep trying...

I bought piles of parts for an E34 Biturbo through Maranello without breaking a sweat. He even quoted me on them ahead of time. If you aren't successful with them let me know.

Did you just give them the part numbers and you were good to go? Were they Alpina specific parts?

When I went to the local BMW dealer they just got really confused

Actually it is Mike at Maranello that I am dealing with, that's where that quote rgarding models sold in North America came from. He is very helpful and fast on BMW parts queries so I definitely don't want to give a negative impression! It's possible it was just that particular part # he was having trouble with.

This is all a bit of a long shot that the manifold will be reasonably priced, but I appreciate all the input thus far!
