My understanding is that we have the Europeans to blame. We had a few years where the Euro was down and the CAD was much stronger (in comparison to the Euro), so we got some good deals. Even though the JPY vs CAD wasn't great when I bought my B8 in 2011 I still got a much better deal than the current prices even though the CAD is stronger now vs the JPY.

If I had the money, I would have boughten that car. Its worth it for your "dream" car, for which the B12 LWB is for me. I dont want a Lambo or Bentley, I want the B12 LWB.

I also truly believe that some of the best cars made came out of the 1990's.

Yeah I saw that too. Are you going for it?

Also a B8 4.0 this week.

B8 already went through tonight. I saw it, but only with short notice. After looking it it closer it would need too many things to be back to original, so I didn't try on it. Interesting that the photos for it on alpinaarchive are different, so someone has changed it up since it showed up on there.

Insanely jealous of that B12. Starting bid was 1.18Million yen which didnt seem that bad.

What did I miss on the B8 4L? What had been replaced? I noticed the wheels didnt look like the original ones.

The wheels were the biggest thing to me. They might have still been authentic Alpina wheels, but not the right ones for the car. There was something else mounted in the passenger foot well, the pedals and dead pedal had been changed, and the deck had been changed out from what I can remember. I didn't actually ask about the car. I was just going by what i could see in the auction photos.

Was not sold at 975,000 JPY. Considering the condition etc. that's pretty much what I was going to bid on the car, so I guess I wouldn't have won it anyway.
