Default Hello From Burnaby, BC

Hi Everyone!!

I'm a very lucky owner of a 1996 Alpina B8, and I'm located in Burnaby, BC. Although I've had the car in my possession for a while now I haven't been able to drive it much for a number of reasons. I'm looking forward to doing a general tune up on it and getting it insured somewhere around March or April. It's not a gem, but it's still a good find

I'm looking forward to seeing what this site has to offer

Great to have you join us Scooter, we need more of you west coast boys. Things were getting a little Ontario-heavy.

Do you have any Alpina buddies who we should be inviting here?

Beauty B8, by the way.

No, I don't know of anyone else out this way But I'm not too involved in the car scene. I'm hoping to get involved with the local BMW club, but I don't know if I will have enough time. There are a couple of E34 Alpinas for sale in the area, and those are the only ones I presently know of.

Welcome to the club and good to see a local Alpina owner.

There are quite alot of Alpinas here in Vancouver. I personally know of 3 other B10 Biturbos plus I see several B10 3.5s running around town.

Yours is the first B8 I've seen here. I'm a member of the BMW CCBC and there is typically a few Alpinas that show up at the car shows and events.

I try and organize a few GTGs with the E34 Biturbos now and then, perhaps you can come out too.

If you want advice on local repair shops, etc. let me know.

Cheers,

Sean

I used to be a paid member of the BMW CCBC, but I haven't been for a few years now. I still check on the forum every now and then, but there isn't too much action there.

As far as shops, I'll be going to Nixon for anything I don't want to do myself. When I owned a 850i a few years back I got in touch with Tom Carter, and for a number of reasons I gained a huge amount of respect for him. He says they are a good shop, and I've been happy with the dealings I've had with them for some of my previous BMW's.

I guess I should get involved with the BMW CCBC again. It would be nice to get out to some shows and cruises to see what else is around and have a good time

Yes, Tom Carter is an excellent resource and a heck of a nice guy. We may have run into each other before at one of his "wrench fests". And I love his red 850i

Nixon does good work and I've used them on a few ocassions.

I hear you on the BMWCCBC, I haven't really got much out of it, but I do enjoy the German Car Festival every summer.

Thanks Mark. I'll have to check that out when I get a chance.

I'm going to have to start being more selective for the forums I sign up for. I seem to be on WAY too many these days! It's hard to keep up with all of them and make worth while posts. Plus, I'm a Moderator on one forum, so I have to make sure I spend time on that one
