This paper is somewhat wrong and confusing. It states that a C code is for a Small Block M60 from around 1980 on. An M60 is a V8 made from 1992 to around 1995. They obviously mean the M20. The Alpina 3 series didn't get a V8 until the E36, which was called a B8 not a C1 or C2.
Basically the naming is very confusing and the article didn't help my including errors.
